CORONAVIRUS UPDATE - CLUB OPERATIONS STATUS

SISA Families,

We hope this message finds you well.  As we prepare for our upcoming fall soccer season, we wanted to provide information related to COVID-19 and “Return to Play” guidelines that are impacting all sports activities.  It is important to note that we will continue to follow the guidelines and directions provided by the state of North Carolina.  Since we use soccer fields and property owned by the Town of Mooresville and Iredell County, we will be under their guidance, direction, and partnership as well.

SISA is a member of the NCYSA (North Carolina Youth Soccer Association). With that being said, they have been and continue to be a valuable asset and resource for helping us prepare for “Return to Play” for our upcoming fall season. This LINK will provide valuable information that has been shared by NCYSA through their continued webinars and website updates.

We understand there will continue to be updated information for COVID-19 “Return to Play” guidelines.  With that said, SISA will follow any updates provided and communicate those to our SISA families and coaches. The information we are providing today is the most recent including this week.  It is important to note that some of the guidelines listed are relevant to those soccer associations that are currently running training sessions today as part of their summer programs.  In other words, some of these guidelines may change prior to the beginning of our fall season.  We are currently looking at the following dates for the fall season:

July 25--Registration begins

August 9--Registration with late fee

August 16--Registration closes

August 20--Coaches' Meeting

August 24--Practices begin for U6 and older

September 12--Games begin

September 13--Instructional begins

October 23-25--Fall Tournament for all ages including Instructional.

SISA will be working closely with our coaches this fall to help ensure the health and safety of our players will remain paramount.  Some soccer associations across North Carolina have already begun training and other activities related to their summer programs.  SISA continues to get updates from NCYSA related to key learnings and suggestions from other associations that will allow us to follow best practices under the current guidelines.

We hope everyone has a safe and healthy summer and we look forward to seeing everyone this fall.

Thank you,

SISA
