SISA Board Members

Daryl Tilley has been a SISA board member for 10 years. He has been coaching soccer for 16 years, 12 of which with SISA. He has coached in every age group from U3 to u18. Daryl currently holds an "E" license for coaching as well as a Grade 8 Referees license.  Daryl was awarded the NCYSA Boys Recreation Coach of the Year in 2012 for the state of North Carolina.

Summer Langeman has been coaching soccer since 2004 and has been involved with soccer to some degree since 1999.  As a child athlete, Summer was involved in Gymnastics and Track.  Today, she enjoys fencing and kickboxing.  A mother of four, Summer spends a lot of time on the soccer fields, but when she has free time, she enjoys Lake Norman and Nascar.  Presently, she holds an "E" Coaching Certificate.

Bill Freshwater has been serving as a SISA Board member since 2001 and been coaching within SISA since 1992.  Bill currently holds his NCYSA E License and has coached recreational soccer, challenge and classic level teams with ICRD.  Bill took his Rec Soccer Team from SISA, all the way through the levels up to Classic 1.  When not opening and closing the fields each day, Bill enjoys spending time with his family and is involved with Rocky Mount Church.

Matt Bice has held a position on SISA’s Board for the past 7 years but has been involved with SISA for the past 12 years.  This year, he is serving in a new role as the Board liaision for SISA’s newly formed Challenge teams.  Matt currently holds a State D License and coaches a U10 Challenge team and a U15 Classic I team. He has coached basketball and soccer in the past as well as played soccer, basketball and baseball in school.  When Matt is not at the field, he enjoys playing golf and actively plays in softball, basketball, soccer and bowling leagues. He also likes to watch the New York Yankees.

Fil Wilkinson joined SISA in Spring 2011 as the Director of Coaching.  Fil hails from Durham, England and has been providing skill development clinics and training sessions for SISA players and coaches for the past five years.  He is an accomplished soccer player having played at a semi-professional level. While attending New College Durham, Fil played collegiately for his 3 years, receiving "Player of the Year" honors twice and was Captain his last season. He also finished each season as the teams leading goal scorer. He has been previously affiliated with MLS and Premier UK Soccer. He has actively coached all age groups from U3 thru Professional levels.

A Description of DOC Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct skill development clinics and training sessions for players and coaches.
  • Conduct age appropriate coaching clinics.
  • Create short and long term seasonal and yearly objectives with regards to age groups and skill development.
  • Help coaches in the SISA plan and implement practice sessions
  • Act as a resource for all coaches and players
  • Organize and conduct camps and skill sessions for players
  • Organize and facilitate state run coaching clinics
  • Assist in the evaluating and selecting of qualified coaches and trainers      
  • Design manuals and information packets for coaches.
  • Design training priorities for each age group and level.
