Parents: Thank you for your continued participation in the South Iredell Soccer Association (SISA). We are one of the largest and most successful youth soccer associations in the state with more than 700 active recreational players on over 70 teams. In addition, another 500 older South Iredell players have stepped up to “challenge” and “classic” soccer in the area. Soccer is alive and well in South Iredell! We need your help as we continue to grow! Now more than ever we need the assistance of parent volunteers with coaching. We can only field as many teams as we have coaches. In the event of a shortage of coaches, we are forced to expand the rosters of teams that do have volunteers.
- You may register online at sisasoccer.com, print out the registration form available as a pdf on this page and mail it in, attend a walk-in registration at Dicks or the War memorial, or return the registration form mailed out to returning players.
- Returning players should receive a registration form in the mail for each returning player in your household. Review the forms carefully and use a pen to fill in any blank fields or to update any information that has changed. Please make sure you sign the form in two separate places, one on each page.
Please return your registration forms and your check by July 24, 2009. Any player registering after 12:00 p.m. on July 24th, 2009 will be assessed a $10 late fee. There are no exceptions.

Frequently Asked Questions
When will the fall season start and end?
§ Practices for U-8 through high school players will start in mid-August with games to follow in early September. The instructional season starts a bit later and parents should not expect phone calls until early September. The season finishes up with the Iredell County Tournament in early November.
How are players assigned to teams?
- As long as a player remains in the same age group, they stay on the same team unless they request otherwise. Any player requesting a new team during registration (by printing “Request New Team” on their form) is randomly assigned to a new team via a blind draw. All players entering the draw, except for the coaches’ children, are randomly assigned unless they have a brother or sister already on a team. We are aware it would be convenient for neighbors to be on the same team to facilitate car-pooling but our assignment policy is not negotiable. One of the strengths of our association is the fact that it is not possible to “stack” teams.
- All U8 to U14 girls will automatically be assigned to an all-girls team unless a coed team is specifically requested.
Are we using the same uniforms this season?
§ Yes, we will use the same red/grey reversible jerseys we used last year. Instructional players each get a t-shirt.
How does SISA spend our registration fees?
§ SISA is a non-profit organization supporting recreational soccer in the community. Your fees:
Ø Pay the Iredell County Recreation Department (ICRD) who, in turn, pays per-player North Carolina Youth Soccer Association (NCYSA) dues and insurance, arranges the team schedules and referees, and sponsors a free countywide soccer tournament in early November.
Ø Purchase goals, nets, balls, corner flags, cones and field lining equipment. SISA also pays the labor costs for mowing and lining many of the fields.
Ø Fund coach and player development. SISA sponsors several free coaching clinics every season and reimburses any current coach who attains soccer coaching certification. This coming season, there will be numerous free clinics available for both coaches and players.
Ø Invest in more fields! Year in and year out, SISA spends most of its budget to develop and improve local soccer fields.
If you have any additional questions about registration, please contact Jane Laney at 704-664-1630. Thank you and we look forward to another great season!
